
Tottenham Hotspur give champion Sevilla a run for their money in the second leg of the UEFA Cup quarterfinal but defensive errors in the first seven minute of the game just proved too much for them as Sevilla hold Tottenham to a 2-2 draw and as a re4sult winning the tie with a 4-3 aggregate.
Earlier, Tottenham mid fielder Steed Malbranque scored own goal to give Sevilla a one-goal cushion early in the piece and in the matter of few minutes, former Spurs striker Fredrick Kanoute doubled the lead for Sevilla.
At that point of time, everyone thought that Tottenham campaign in this year UEFA Cup has been done and dusted. But the spirited Spurs side makes a strong comeback in the second half when Jermaine Defoe scored the goal in the 65 minute. Two minutes later, mercurial mid fielder Aaron Lenon levelled the score. But unlike Spurs defense that looked shaky through out the match, Sevilla defended quite well and managed to hold Tottenham to a draw.
